Anyway, hand one, I play preflop and on the flop like that, nothing wrong with a CB....
His turn bet looks like typical donk 'let me draw for free' type bet, but if he is any good it could be a 'please re-raise and be my bitch' type bet... I have got into the habbit of raising this type of bet quite strongly, more often than not they will fold, but obviously when they don't you are in trouble.... In this hand I would probably raise his turn bet to $10, but I do have a problem with AQ!! Fold the river all day long, he either played a set in a bizare way (hoping you would catch up) or his turn bet was a drawing bet and he made his crappy str8 on the river. DONK.
Hand two, at the right table with the correct table image I don't mind raising 88 here, if I have been ultra tight and I know I can get paid off if I do hit the set and get a CB bet through if I miss, but I wouldn't raise it as a standard play.
Once you are called on the flop you either have to fold or make a bigger bluff on the turn, your turn bet isn't getting him to fold this hand often enough to be any good.
Hand 3, your read tells you he is weak, do you want to try and push him off this hand? Is he the type of fish that will fold, or will he check-call down for a whole stack with top pair no-kicker? I raise more on the flop and then shut down like you did.
Against a better player I might be tempted to bet big on the turn to try and represent AK... / AQ to move him off a weaker ace, but not many decent players will limp call utg with a weak ace anyway.Statistics: Posted by Yenool — Mon Jul 10, 2006 12:51 am
