There are two things that you can do. Push or Check.
If you push:
- He calls with a better hand and you lose an extra $425
- He calls with a worse hand (Like AT or something) and you win pot plus an extra $425
- He folds and you win pot
If you check:
- He checks behind with his worse hand and you win pot.
- He bets $425
---- You call, he was bluffing, and you win pot plus an extra $425
---- You call, he wins and you lose an extra $425
So, he either has a better hand or he doesn't. If he has a better hand, you are going to lose an extra $425 no matter what.
If he doesn't have a better hand, you win pot for sure. You win an extra $425 one of two ways:
- By getting him to call your bet with a worse hand
- OR by inducing him to bluff on the river.
So you have to look at what of those two options he is most likely to do. I would think that it is more likely he will bluff with his worse hand after you check, than to call a bet with a worse hand.
The answer is: Check.Statistics: Posted by LuparFiend — Wed Aug 02, 2006 9:55 am
