I do try to read as many of the post here as I can. I apogize if this topic has been covered... This is the type of question that probably comes up every few months, but I haven't found the answers yet. Thanks in advance for any help.
As I understand it, a CB is used when you raised preflop, and missed the flop.
Do you do this every every time? How about when you are in EP? Or there are 3 or more callers and it is a drawing board?
I have heard that 3/4 of the pot is about right? Do you vary this? Otherwise I would assume everyone else would figure you for a CB.
Finally, if you do make a CB in EP, what do you do on the turn? Most often the turn is going to miss you and a check invites a bluff or a weak hand to bet you out of the pot. But making any real bet without a hand seems expensive.
BTW, What is the point of this bet? Is it to get everyone to fold? Like a bluff? If that is the case I guess I answered my own question about 3 or more players. Is it to disguise what you raised with?
One last question, not about CBs.... I am really trying to learn NL and play FR only. Is there value in reading the 6 max posts, or is the aggression factor that much greater that I would be learning some expensive habits?
Thanks for your time
