Now I see what kind of player you're talking about.
Here's my opinion: If you do a fair amount of checking to that kind of player (showing weakness), they're likely to bet strong on crap and make smaller value bets. On this one, your flop raise already shows a fair amount of strength (pretty clearly some kind of overpair), so it may not entirely apply.
It just seems to me that if you're willing to call down absolutely any bet here, you'll tend to lose less when you're behind and win more when you're ahead. And, if the read is fairly solid, you can also even lay down when you're too far behind and lose nothing more.
At least one thing I've noticed about my own play is that it makes me feel more comfortable if I have the initiative. So, I often try to keep it in spots where it's not necessarily a good thing.Statistics: Posted by Aisthesis — Thu Aug 24, 2006 11:24 am
