I'll play this like I have the nuts though...I'm not worrying about a flopped stright flush.
I did consider calling just to try to bring along the SB, but I didn't want to puke on the turn if the board pairs or another diamond kills my action (I'd probably only get action from a straight flush at that point).
My question is...if you are SB would it make any difference if I push or not? (ie a thinking SB doesn't care whether I push or call, as he's either folding or he wants to be all-in) I mean to call would pot commit him anyway. Ultimately that is why I pushed because it would be such a show of strength to flat call that I didn't think it mattered. I put BB on 99 and figured he'd call. So in my 15 seconds of thought I figured there was no upside to flat calling, only bad things could happen. After thinking about it more, I can't see why calling here is good. Also, if the board pairs on the turn I sure as hell don't want to be calling off $250+ to BB's push of his full house when I'm drawing dead.
I push, SB thinks forever and folds. BB insta-calls with his top set. The board doesn't pair and I scoop over $1k.Statistics: Posted by Triple B — Wed Aug 23, 2006 9:25 pm
