History
I have been at this table for about 45 minutes. Normally I wouldn't play a table like this one but I sat down and it was juicy and then dried up to what we have now. I decided I wanted to play against a couple of the players at this table. This table is very tight and includes one of the top 3 players in my database (3 to my left) (22/13 - V$IP/Raise). 2 to my left is another solid player though he is looser (31/10) and one to my left is a an uber tighter set miner type (12/5).
In the last half hour i have been playing very loose. At one point I limped or raised 15 hands in a row and 19 out of 20. However despite this I have been able to trap one of these guys in a hand and luckily I have avoided being trapped, so my image is probably not great. I am down about $30 mostly to short stacks who keep coming on, I lose to them then they loose the money to the TAG across the table
Villian
The Villian in question is the TAG 3 to my left. I have over 350 hands on him so I assume he has that many on me. He is in the top three of the best players in my database and he is hard to trap and very smart. He is very capable of folding top pair or an overpair and he is not above making a move at a pot
ok, on to the hand in question
Oh effective stacks. I have about $120, Villian has $220
Table is 5 handed. everyone FOLDS (fixed sorry) to the TAG who raises to $3.50 on the button (a standard raise for him). SB folds and I call in the BB with 2[s] 2[h]
flop comes 2[c] 9[h] 3[c]
I lead for $4 and he min raises me. Now I put villians range on any PP, any two cards T or higher, and Ax down to about 7-8. However the min raise is REALLY ODD. I have never ever seen this guy min raise so I have no idea what to make of it. It could mean AA or it could mean crap, I have no idea.
Question #1: Do you just call or re-raise? I figured if I re-raised he would fold almost for sure and I wasn't too worried about the flush draw.
Question #2: I led for $4 into a $8.00 pot, is that too small?
I decide to just call
The turn is a 4[d]
I check, he bets $10 into a $20 pot. I check raise to $40
Question #3: How is my action? I didn't want to lead again but I can't let him off cheap. I am 80% sure I am ahead here. Is there a better line?
ok I will post more later on this hand.
I think the biggest mistake I made so far was the flop bet. I think if I led for a full pot it may have been better, however I never expected a min raise. I expected a fold or larger raise from him
