I pretty happy with the way I play my AKo, I have a terrific win rate of 3BB/hand (I think it will get a bit worse, just a varience now), but it seems wrong to me that my small PP yield much less. So I am looking for suggestions and the ways to improve this.
Can you, guys, look in your Poker Tracker and check these stats? If you have some ideas concerning this point, I am very interested.
From my side I think that probably one of the leaks is calling raises with 22-66 (ecpecially OOP), as one will miss sets most of the time and will have to fold to CB. (There are some very good flops that one can float or raise like 556, but normally there are at least 2 overcards and it's a pain to call CB on a flop like KT6). Another problem is that once you hit your set it's not very likely that you can get a big pay off, in 6max people raise lots of hands and mostly miss the flops. (For example if you have 22, and OP raised OTB with JT you are unlikely to extract a lot on a KT2 flop.)
In FR call a raise -> hit-a-set strategy for small PP works better as OP will have a premium hand like AK, JJ+ much more often and will pay us when we hit our sets.Statistics: Posted by Zmej — Sat Nov 25, 2006 5:09 pm
