That flop looks like it could have missed you so a re-raise with air is possible from any decent player (he figures 2/3 of the time you missed don't have an overpair and are just making a regulation CB).
The only way you want to get all-in here with him is if he is bad enough to get it all in with QQ-99 overpair to board (or an ace flush draw).
For that reason I like the re-raise on the flop much better than your line -especially as you seem to be planning a check raise all in on the turn.
If he pushes then you can let go with a clear conscience unless he is a total donk.
