First hand I get dealt is AKo. UTG limps, EP limps and I raise to 4. BB and limpers call. They all have me covered.
I tend to make my raise with AK in position a bit smaller than with big pairs because I don't want to shut out limpers with Ax.
Flop comes K 8 2 rainbow, pot is 16. Checked to me and I bet 11.
UTG is the only caller
This is the Sahara desert of flops. You can not invent a flop more dry than this. Normally I bet closer to pot but I figure a smaller bet is OK on this draw-free flop. I'm hoping to get action from KQ, KJ type hands and leave myself room to get away from 88 or 22.
Turn is a 9 completing the rainbow. UTG checks to me and I bet 25 into the 38 pot.
I've put in 15 so far so if I bet 25 I will have 60 left for the river and the pot will be 88 which will make a push reasonable, but I still leave myself room to get away here. I expect a set to wake up on the turn most of the time.
River is a 4 and UTG checks to me. I push.
When he checks againI figure his most likely hand is KQ or KJ and having called all the way, and getting decent pot odds, he's likely to call a push. However I am a bit ambivalent because I've been "valuebetting" second bets hands a lot on the river lately.Statistics: Posted by Stoneburg — Wed Feb 21, 2007 9:36 am
