#2 - I think you played it fine to be honest - you just called on the flop to see if he was made, picked up what was definitely a live flush draw (why would he move all-in on the river with a boat), and you shut down when he tried to get paid off (since he isn't triple barreling a check-caller on a bluff most likely).
#3 - Do this every now and then to keep em' honest - you can't always be raising them with the nuts.
