Hand #1
I've got JJ in the BB, two limpers and the SB completes. I raise to $6 and the SB is the only callers (perfect, only guy I would have had position on). Effective stack size = $80.
Flop comes QJ8 rainbow. SB checks, there's $14 in the pot, I bet $9 hoping to pick up a loose call. He calls.
Turn is a T, putting a club draw out (I got no club). Now he leads out for $11.
So he's now repping the straight, or something like two-pair with QT I guess. I want to raise but with one card to a straight out I finally decide to just call, and just call again on the river unless it pairs.
River is an Ace, and now SB checks. I valuebet $31 figuring him for something like KQ or QT.
Hand #2
Against same guy later, effective stack size = $100.
Now I know he's very loose and seems bad. Basically he is my target.
I've got QQ utg and make it $4. Target is the only caller from the BB.
Flop comes K78 with a heart draw, I have the queen of hearts.
He checks, I bet $7 and he flat calls. I figure him for a draw. Probably the flush, but could be the straight I guess.
Turn is a brick, the 3 of spades. He checks.
Here I would normally check behind, but having watched a Green Plastic video I decide to bet for value and to make him pay to draw. I bet $26.
River is the horrible Ace of hearts. He leads out for $12 into the $52 pot. I really feel I am beat here but can I fold getting those pot odds?Statistics: Posted by Stoneburg — Sat Jun 09, 2007 3:50 pm
