I think river is heavily player dependent. Do you have any sort of read what hand strength does the villain need to call turn? It is possible that he folds a 9x to a turn bet unless its T9 and A9? If so, flush draw is much more likely, so if he likes to bet/bluff river, check it to him, especially if he folds to river a lot(means he is not calling river there w naked 9)
If he has a 8x he is betting river 100% of time so you can CRAI him while he might just flat call the river bet.
I think Ice is thinking of a nice VB if villain is
a) table sherif, that is likes to make hero calls and thinks that big bet ---> bluff
b) is a thinking player(somewhat, his stats are fishy) and is thinking to myself..There is no way that this guy bets 2 streets OOP w 8x so he will make a crying call with 9x, since he figures you either have set or missed draw and rarely JT. I guess this last b part depends on your image. He could put you on overpair so his bare 9x beats like nothing besides FD/
Is it possible that he is a fishy type of player that bets river like 50% of time, like 20$ in 100$ pot or such that you can CR to 60 and get some value? Some players will bet river very thin and will be very tight in their calling range when facing riverStatistics: Posted by gsdavid — Fri Nov 30, 2007 2:03 am
