It's ok to BTN limp 22-77 or 88 in a 5 or possibly 6 way pot is it not?

Flop was way to drawy, especially in a limped pot. I settled on raising to $3 based on the stack sizes of the UTG and CO players. Didnt expect a shove by BB but gladly accepted it and called. I guess my question is, and I am sure this is much simpler than I am making it out to be, is my thinking correct with raising based on the stack sizes of the shorties? I think I might have approached it a bit differently 2 or 3 way.
Feel free to blast me for posting something I am sure I am over thinking.
