Your flop raise has to be bigger. The pot's $1.75 when it gets to you. Make your raise at least $2.50. The turn couldn't be more of a blank, so bet big potatoes. Or at least 4/5 pot. That'll leave him with a slightly less than pot-size bet to call on the river. Which he will with A8 and other assorted junk.
To paraphrase something Iceman said, "The plaque for the alternates is in the ladies' room. Also, if you check-raised to flop to build a pot, why'd you bet the turn small?"
