How can you think that. It was 50-50 at best and he knew it. Those aren't the odds you want to try and double up OR lose your stack on. AK is a good hand, but not for all your stack against a good player when you still have enough chips to do damage with. It doesn't make ANY sense. If he only had 1000 chips left it would've been a different story and the correct call at that time. The only time you should call an all in of a person who has around the same amount of money as you is if you know you are winning or you have no money left and have to take a chance to try and win. You know all of this but you forget that AK sucks. You were winning this hand 52% to 48% preflop. Would you bet 1 dollar in any other game knowing you were at odds to lose at the start of the game?
