Yes there is a straight draw on the board but how do you put him on J9 let alone 78 off with all the pre flop raises. I would put him on AA, KK, AK or AJ clubs with the way he is betting. If you play weak and muck because you think they have AA or KK you might as well not play any hands other then AA or KK. So I think you have to play it strong like you did.
I get tired of hearing people say these are the guys you want to play against. Because what happens is say you double up this time. You might even double up next time. But before the MTT is over one of these idiots are going to suck out and break or cripple you. If your only a 60/40 favorite then that means that 4 times out of 10 they are going to suck out on you.
