Blinds $1000-2000- Average stack would be $25000 I post the small blind and have $11,000 left. One limper EP – fold to the button who raises to $6,000. I look at wired KK. Count out my chips, look at the the villain, look at what I’ll have have left and push –all in. folds to the raiser who says he can’t get away from it now” and calls reraise of $5,000. He has AJ and of course spikes a two outer as the limper said he had an ace.
Here is my after thought on the hand. I would never mind getting all in with KK vs. AJ but if I played it a little different ??? If I put this guy on big A and just call his raise. The flop comes all blanks (as it did) then there is still some fold equity left with my $5000 bet. The Villain had about 21,000 at the start of the hand and had 15000 after the raise. With the blinds at 1-2000 -15,000 left looks a lot better than 10,000. Also if an ace comes on the flop I might get away from the hand and have another chance. I know this scenario can be played out on a bigger level and be more meaningful so even if this is a no brainer ALL IN - is there reason to hold a little back for fold equity on a missed flop for Ax against a made hand?
