I think I would go ahead and pop the flop there and hope to get to cap it off if EP thinks I am trying to buy a free card diamond and he repops me. If the flop was two tone I really like the turn CR alot more but I suppose the way you played it was fine as well. I think if you intend to call the river bet why not just go ahead and bet it and fold to a raise. That way you get the bet in when you are ahead and he checks behind and you lose the same amount when you are beat.

Yeah, this is the rare situation in which I can recommend a bet/fold on the river without feeling dirty cause i wouldnt be able to do it myself.

Curious, what was your plan if the turn had been a diamond? Check-fold?
