Well recently I've been playing about 5/4/3.5 as far as agression goes. So basically what I'm hearing from you guys is to err towards more PFR'ing- Not Less? So basically it's a: if you're going to play, you should be coming in for a raise type of theory? I totally see the value there for sure, just was wondering about trying to limp a lot of other stuff looking for a flop since in these types of games the immediate pot odds are almost always ridiculous anyway, let alone the implied odds.

Ed Miller has some good thoughts regarding this. Basically when you raise you're pushing your pot equity edge, but you give up some other things that I can't recall immediately. Anyway, if you're not playing against tight, tricky (read: TAGs or UAGs) players, it's almost always correct to push your pot equity edge. On top of this, being aggressive (and tight, of course), your opponents will tend to give you credit for better hands than you may have. Raising preflop puts you in control of the hand and that means you have a better opportunity to win the pot even when you miss the flop. So, push that pot equity edge.

Those aggression numbers are fine. I hope your VP$IP isn't 20% or 24% though, cause that's too high for .5/1 online. I consider anyone with a VP$IP over 19% to be loose.

my VP$IP is around 28% at 0.5/1 limit with about 5k hands under my belt (still a small sample size i know), and my pre-flop raise is 17%. AF is 2.6/2.7/2.8.

With those numbers im still beating a 4.42BB/100 rate out on the tables. My results would tend to indicate with some decent post-flop play you can play a lot more hands for a profit even at 0.5/1.

So i would tend to disagree with your VP$IP >19% being too-loose.

Although it must be noted that these hands are @ party where you can find a lot of stupid players and beat them with ease. My experiences with other sites like pokerroom network required me to tighten up a bit pre-flop to about 23-24 % VP$IP
