This table was pretty quite so I raised this hand, hit my set and bet - my question is, once he raised was I right to reraise to $3 - as it turned out it may have saved me as one of the folders might have finished up beating me (which may answer my question) but I was wondering if I was better to call and keep the players in on this occasion.

I agree with Pok here that Id play it the same.

Growlers: I wholeheartedly agree with your assesment on what would happen if we cold call, and that its not a very draw heav board, but I don't think i'ts worth slowplaying for a total of 1 more BB. Now if the aggressor was on my right and I could trap the field for an extra BB on the turn I think the risk of letting them draw could be worth it. Being that the agression is coming from my left, and there is not much to be gained here by waiting for the turn, I am inclined to raise it on flop as OP did and shut them out now. If they call, even better.

I have been suffering from FPS and am trying to get back to basics. Play my strong hands strong and my weak draws like weak draws.

Side Note: I move up to 2/4 FR today and promptly dropped 25 bets in about 100 hands. Oh the pure joy of moving up and shitting the bed! (Pok: taking a pass on 6 max for now). AA cracked by K2 suited on a K high flop which brought a river 2. AQ ran into AJ on an AJ flop. I also overplayed 66 with a 3 bet trying to isolate and then took it to far......that one was my own fault.

I ran into at least 3 spots where I new I was beat on the turn or river and called down to see how right my read was......I should have saved at least 3-4 bets of the 25 I dropped.
