I'm very new to LHE so any comments are greatly appreciated.
I'm just wondering if I was correct to make it 3 bets on the turn or should I just call villians raise here?

Outcome: Hero wins 19.50 BB.

I thought him capping the river was a questionable play, but I'm glad he did it

Yeah for FR the general "guidelines" are between 300-500 BB's for a given level. Naturally how you play will afftect that as well, meaning if you tend to have pretty big swings in a lot of sessions.... Either due to playing style of post flop decisions you might want to lean closer to the 500 BB side. If you're a tighter player who plays relatively straightfoward with less risk you can probably be closer to the 300 side.

You also need to consider the possibility of moving down should yo hit a bad run etc if you're playing closer to the 300 BB side..... Naturally this all assumes your BR is non-replaceable or you have no intentions of adding additional funds if need be.

But yeah as an overall "rule" 300 BB's is generally the "required" minimum for a FR game. Since SH has more swings and you're playing more marginal hands and marginal situations it's usually recommended you allow more of a cushion that you would for full ring.

If you played it any different, you'd be losing money in the long run bud. Even on the off chance he does have the straight, you still have outs. And yeah his river play is laughable.
