I know that this is a revisited topic....but on a 6-player no limit table....How do you play ACE-QUEEN. According to PT this is by far my WORST hand. I need to learn how to play this better....any recommendations?

On a 6-person table, I would probably just limp with it and MAYBE call a small raise, but lean towards a fold.

On a 10-person table, call me a tightwad, but whenever I see it UTG now, it's going into the muck.

Well I'm a total LAG, but I raise this hand from any decent position at a 6-max. If I'm UTG I might opt to limp, and then reraise if I see one of those patheticly tiny raises. On the flop, if I hit, I play it quick and sweet, same way I like to play AK. Really, it's not as weak as people seem to imply it is. Most people just suck at playing it. I dunno what I would do with it at a 10 seater, probably limp in EP or MP, and raise in LP to try to steal the button. Just remember that even though it IS a powerful hand, it's no big slick. And be ready to fold it.

I see this argument all the time and many people argue that limping with this hand is the correct answer. I think limping is the worst thing you can do with this hand. The last thing you want to do is take AQo into a multi-way flop. It will be impossible to know where your at even if you hit top 2 pair there could be major complications. I think the correct play (esp. shorthanded) is to raise to limit the field then play the flop according to texture and the player/s you are up against.

from my last 20,000 or so hands in pokertracker, i have found that AQo is my 2nd most profitable hand (right below AA and above 10Js) even though AK has lost me money. Maybe its because i play AQ a little more carefully than AK, but i do raise with it most of the time from most postions. Since i have noticed how good AQ as been to me, i think i've been overplaying it a little, so it might be time to ease up a bit.
