Home game that goes down once a month came to town, had it at my pad. Good game, started a little tight (everyone is a regular at this game so most people know each other's games pretty well - real cutthroat).

I was down early (running cold) and then was up from original buy-in of $200 to like $500 when this hand comes along.

We're down to 6-handed and I pick up K-K OTB - one limper so I raise to $10, SB, BB, and limper calls.

Flop comes 8[c]-7[h]-4[d]

SB Checks, BB leads $15, UTG cold-calls the $15. I re-raise to $75. BB calls (he started the hand with $245 so know he's put $85 and has $170 left), UTG folds.

Turn is a 5[c].

He checks, I.... ?

(FYI, this guy is probably one of the most aggressive if not the most aggressive player in our game - early he CRed me from the BB after I had button-raised 10-10 and the flop came Q[s]-9[s]-5[h]. I CBed, he CRed, another player UTG shoved, which he called for another $120 with 5-3 offsuit! He had been on a big downswing in the night so I felt like he had tightened up a little for a LAG.)

Check behind. Call a smallish bet on the river. This could be any two cards. 86 88 87 74 65 77 44 99 TT JJ QQ KK AA. There are way better spots to get it in after that turn card.

Thanks for the advice, after I'd thought about the hand today in hindsight I obviously should have checked behind to control the pot size and since it was a such a horrible card to come.

As played, hindsight is 20/20 and I'm a super-donk. I bet $100, he CRAI for $70 more into a pot of $500 so I had to call and pray he had 4-5/8-5/7-5 and not a variation of a 6.

He of course had 7-6 which is why I'm a donk - but thanks for the feedback anyways.
