After having KK go up against AA at least 5 different times this week I am trying to adopt the strategy to avoid going up against Aces. I will only fold Kings when I have a VERY strong signal that the other player is on aces.
Here is a great example where you probably should fold KK.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed)
saw flop|
saw showdown
CO ($35.2)
Button ($42.3)
SB ($39.5)
BB ($60.9)
UTG ($36.95)
APerfect10 ($108.45)
UTG+2 ($49.5)
MP1 ($41.6)
MP2 ($29.65)
MP3 ($91.55)
Preflop: APerfect10 is UTG+1 with
,
. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
1 fold, APerfect10 calls $0.50,
1 fold,
MP1 raises to $2.25,
3 folds,
Button raises to $4,
2 folds,
APerfect10 raises to $10, MP1 calls $39.35 (All-In), Button calls $38.30 (All-In), APerfect10 folds.
Flop: ($94.65)
,
,
(2 players, 2 all-in)
Turn: ($94.65)
(2 players, 2 all-in)
River: ($94.65)
(2 players, 2 all-in)
Final Pot: $94.65
Results in white below:
MP1 has Qd Qc (one pair, queens).
Button has As Ad (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Button wins $93.90.
On another note, I've had AA vs KK 4x this week and got cracked each and every time. What luck.
