Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.25/$0.50
5 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $29.90
CO: $81.90
EP9: $50
SB: $43.85
BB: $34.75

Pre-flop: (5 players) EP9 is Button with [7s] [6s]
UTG calls, CO folds, EP9 raises to $2.25, 2 folds, UTG calls.

Flop: [9d] [5h] [5d] ($5.25, 2 players)
UTG checks, EP9 checks.

Turn: [Qs] ($5.25, 2 players)
UTG bets $2, EP9 raises to $7, UTG calls.

River: [2s] ($19.25, 2 players)
UTG checks, EP9 bets $22

Villain was more on the looser and passiver side. Seemed pretty weak. I would think if he had much of a hand he would have lead the river or 3-bet the turn - that's why I put him all-in on river.

One more 3-barrelling hand

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.25/$0.50
6 players

Stack sizes:
EP9: $82.80
UTG+1: $140
CO: $104.65
Button: $15.20
SB: $56.70
BB: $60.65

Pre-flop: (6 players) EP9 is UTG with [Jc] [Ad]
EP9 raises to $1.75, UTG+1 folds, CO calls, 3 folds.

Flop: [2s] [9d] [4h] ($4.25, 2 players)
EP9 bets $4, CO calls.

Turn: [6h] ($12.25, 2 players)
EP9 bets $9, CO calls.

River: [5s] ($30.25, 2 players)
EP9 bets $20,

Villain was pretty loose and passive. I mostly made this river bet because of a timing tell honestly. He called VERY quickly on flop and turn. This usually means "stop betting plz k thx".

Hand #1

His hand range isn't that wide. Q, 9 (A9 and QJ being most likely) or flush draw. You can't get him to fold a Q, might be able to get him off a 9 and will of course push him off a busted flush draw much cheaper. Is the overbet designed to get him off the Q? I think that is a bit overkill as well as too optimistic. A good size in my opinion would be $15.

I think it is a mistake to not bet the flop though and you got yourself trapped into some FPS by not doing so.

Hand #2

I think this is spewage. If he's a thinking opponent he will suspect you're bluffing, if he's not a thinking opponent the board didn't change in a way to discourage him from calling the river after he calls the flop and turn (what, you're gonna have a 3 there?).

Hand #1: Did you see his stack? He had $21 on the river, the pot was $19.

Hand #2: I would have given up if it weren't for the timing of his calls. Otherwise I agree spewage. If he's a thinking opponent he probably realizes I have an overpair, big hand, or a bluff. It's very rare someone snap calls flop and turn bets with big hands. It's almost always a weak hand or draw.

I wasn't sure if I should bet the flop or not. I find I get more respect if I don't always bet out on flops that very likely missed me like 955 and T66 and such. And here I had a gutshot and didn't want to get raised off it.

I don't see how hand 2 looks bluffy at all. An ever increasing raise all the way down. If you ever want to mask a bluff as a raise isn't that how you would do it? He never slowed down once. I would put you on an over pair for sure.

But if you thought he was drawing he actually might have just made it on the river.
