When I play a patient and relaxed game I win - that simple.

True about the notes, but how many HUDbots take useful notes? Aren't they more intent on playing 14/8 at as many tables as possible?

3-4pm CST = 9-10pm GMT, which is why I play Cake only during UK mornings. It's really come to something when a joke site like Cake becomes bot infested.

FWIW,

I don't mind the nits so much. You do have to raise them and bluff them alot to get them out of their comfort zone.

Then guess what, they payoff very well. A nit who is tired of you and who also has been waiting for a premium hand has a LOT of trouble folding the second best hand.

Another idea is get your freaking funding set up for Prima.

I end up raising a ton and taking down the flop, and/or double barrel more than normal and take down pots. After an hour or so, I get action like you wouldn't believe. 3 bets, c/rs constantly. It makes the game have a lot of variance and I have to play some decent poker and try to figure out if they're playing back at me or if they actually have it. It usually leads to big winning sessions.

6max, I assume?

Oddly enough, as tight as I still am, I have pretty good results vs. semi-nits, anyway. Here's what I'd do against that:

1) (obvious, but still) Identify nits and fish as well as fishy type.

2) Expand (at least for me) steal attempt to not only any playable hand but also any A, maybe K9o or better, K6s or better.

3) Keep bets fairly small. Don't worry about betting 1/3 pot in raised pots. Otherwise more like 1/2+. If you get raised, fold (obviously) without very strong hand or disguised good draw.

What I think is the real worry are calls. I think you need to distinguish also between floaty types and those who like to trap in this kind of game. I'd also be fairly conservative with re-raises unless they're pretty loose with raises. On 10% raising, I think I'd stick with AK and JJ+ for re-raises.

I really think that should normally beat that type as good as your post-flop play is. I'd cut back (I think, just judging from your posts) on some of the bluffs I've seen you post here. Don't know how often you make them in practice these days, but once you get some action (exception is floater types), you're going to be behind often and should probably just give up.

Also, while it's a very boring game with taking down a good number of mini-pots, I think you can actually equal other win-rates vs. this type in the long run, particularly if they're nitty multi-tablers. It's not as much fun, but I'm convinced it's around equally profitable if you can get away from mediocre hands quickly.

Reading through others' posts, I think TR's and Kenny's suggestion along shifting gears lines sound very promising. I'll have to admit that if I really pound it on the loose side, I often have trouble finding the right time to switch back into tight mode.

One other thought: The all-in overbet move works very well against tight players when you have a set: They're likely to have a hand after any action, and they don't believe anyone will play a set that way--particularly if you can throw it in on a draw sometimes, too (I ALWAYS do it on open-ender plus flush). It's mainly a matter of keeping track of your image on that play.
