I feel dumb for even asking. Im new as can be seen by my post count. I have been playing a lot for about 3 months and am starting to turn a nice profit, thanks to this site. What does Hero mean. i can tell that it's what the poster holds. but why hero what is the signifigance.
Sorry for the stupid question, but I'm just trying to gain knowledge, so I can more effectively use this wonderful resource.

Badbeat man there is no deep meaing other than that is the way that everyone knows which hand is the posters hand since a lot of people have different screen names as the do on this site. Also I think there are some people who dont want everyone to know their screen names on certain sites. As for me I dont want people following me around to take all my money.

Its just like your telling a story except this story is about a hand of poker. You refer to yourself as the hero (of the story) and the opponent as the villian.
