$50NL 6-max @ Tribeca. max buyin is 200bb. i have $100 and so does villain.

i raise UTG+1 with [Qc]. villain calls on button. he seems tight/passive. heads up to flop.

i bet $5. he minraises to $10. should i 3-bet here, lead turn, or CR turn? at this point we each have about $85 behind, so it's not trivially easy to get all in here, at least not for me.

If he's tight he should have a Q or a PP here. If he is undersetted you're stacking him 95% of the time no matter what. Since he is passive it is also much less likely that he has a draw here so I don't mind slowplaying too much. A flat call (after some hesitation of course) and a check/raise on the turn seems reasonable. If the HD is correct you should be guaranteed a bet on the turn from him (he might check behind with JJ-88 but those would fold to a 3-bet on the flop anyway and those are pretty much drawing dead anyway so no loss).

I flat call this turn for a wide variety of reasons....such as.

he min raised, so I assume he has more of a made hand than a draw.
also he called a raise and is tight passive, therefore I rule out 87, 43, 65 at the moment.
also that is about as safe a board as you can get with top set playing for a raise.

I think he has AQ here or perhaps a big pair like KK or you over setted him.

I check raise the turn bet for sure.

If he has 87, 43, or 65 here I will pay him off.
if he has an underset I am getting his money no matter what.

ok. i 3-bet to $25 here. a little on the small side, but based on my read of him, his range was pretty tight and did not include drawing hands. he called.

great. he should have a lower set here most of the time i think. so it doesnt really matter what i do. i checked, he insta-shoved. i called with the nuts and he showed KK.

im not completely sure why i checked the turn....but in hindsight it was the only way to get his stack on this hand. im pretty sure he folds if i bet big on the turn.
