I open in EP to 70 with
. 4 people call, 350 in the pot. Flop is
Both blinds check, it's up to me with two players behind me. Effective stacks are around 2k.
I pretty much always want to bet and 3 bet all in here, but it seems as though no one ever raises the flop. Everyone is kinda passive and they'll call much more often than raise. Majority of players won't raise to test me on the flop, nor will they raise me with a set or a draw or something. I mean it happens occassionally, but not often.
So, I'm kinda struggling to come up with a better way to play this. Check and hope to checkraise? It's great if it works, but if I give the free card my hand sucks to play on the turn pretty much whether I hit or not. If I just bet then most times someone will call and then again, my hand is tough to play on the turn. Betting this flop pretty much announces I've at least got something, as I'm not suicidal enough to bet here with just AK or whatever, and everyone knows it. Am I just thinking too much about this or what?
I suppose the easy way to avoid this situation is to just not raise these types of hands from EP, but I really can't stop doing that. Not only do I think it's still +EV to do so in a vacuum, but if I only raise AK and big pairs and such, my game is just way too transparent.
