I've played with UTG several times before, no real beef between us though.

UTG runs at 22/16. Effective stacks $100.

1. UTG raises to $4, folds to me on the button and I call with [2s].
2. Flop [6h][5d], pot $8. UTG bets $6, I call.
3. Turn comes X, pot $20, UTG bets $13. Hero....

Now obviously this is a horrible flop for UTG's range, which I would imagine is something like mine (ATs+, AJ+, any pp).

I know this is opponent dependent, but do you think it's better to usually just raise the flop here, or wait and raise the turn?

If you wait to raise the turn, what turn cards are you raising here? I'm personally raising anything but a high heart, and that's only because the stack size is so akward that I think he might just say "screw it" and call with an overpair + flush draw or top pair + flush draw.

i wouldnt necessarily choose this spot to make a play, although i agree its not awful.. im roughly 22/16 and i can tell you that my flop range in this exact spot would include any set, and occasionally some 2 pair hands and combo draws.

having said that. if he knows you are also a good regular, ithink raising the flop is way preferable to raising the turn.

if he thinks you're a typical low-stakes player then i think raising the turn becomes the better play.

A better case to steal this pot is if you have something like KQ and call with the intent of taking it away on a 5, 7, 9 or heart turn. Still not the best idea, but probably better than raising the flop or waiting to raise any turn. If you had a set you would raise the flop 100% of the time, so you can't really represent that hand.
