$20 NL for all...

Scene 1
Dealt in the BB. 3 Limpers. I raise to $2.50 EP limper calls. I have no real stats on him.

Flop is

I bet pot ($5). EP calls.

Turn is . I have about $10 left and he has me covered.

Bet, Push, or Check/Fold?

Scene 2
Dealt in MP. I open for $2. SB (vpip: 59%) calls.

Flop is

SB checks. I bet pot ($5), he raises to $10. I have about $8 left and he has me covered.

Fold or push?

Scene 3
Dealt in the CO. MP raises to $.60. I re-raise to $2. Folds around to the original MP raiser who calls. He is new to the table but he's seen 5 of 6 flops since sitting down.

Flop is .

EP leads out for $1.80. I have $15 and have him covered.

What do you do?

Sorry if I'm giving too little info, but all 3 of these hands happened in a short period of time and since they were all very similar (and had similar outcomes), I was thinking that presenting them as a group might be good...

In all 3 hands I pushed in on the flop. I lost all 3. In the first hand the player had 5 5 and flopped a set; in the second hand the player had 2 2 and flopped a set; in the third hand the villain had 8 8 and won with a runner runner straight.

At this level, with blinds of .10/.20, a $4 PF raise of 20x the BB seems a little strong. But maybe it's necessary to avoid these scenarios?

Its tough that you lost all 3 hands but that doesnt neccisarily change how you should be playing them.

Hand 1: Your opponant did not have odds to call the PFR he called getting about 9:1 and in the long run assuming he folds when he misses you are going to be in good shape more often than not. Like I said this is not a great flop for you hand especially vs a player that calls to many hands. I might check this turn behind and hope to get to showdown cheaper, there arent to many hand that that villian is going to hit that he isnt going to call with anyways.

Hand 2: As you move up you will need to start considering folding overpairs in $20 NL vs a 50 VPIP player you are going to win a lot more money than you lose getting all in in this situation, there are going to be plenty of times when the villian has AQ, KQ, QJ, JJ, 1010 and you are going to be a big fav.

Hand 3: I dont think you should open raise 20x but if someone else raises make any possible raise that will get called. Make them commit more money to the pot when you have the best hand and you win in the long run.
