$50NL 6-max @ Tribeca.

i limp [8c] UTG. CO and Button limp, SB folds, BB makes it $2.50. i have a read on him that he raises 3bb with his big pairs and 5bb with everything else. he's not a good player...but he's reasonably decent preflop and not a fish like most of tribeca. so i re-raise to $7.50. folds to him and he calls. he has $120 and i cover.

pot: $16

he checks, i bet $12, he calls.

turn:
pot: $40

thoughts on the play so far, and plan for the rest of the hand? what do you think his range is here? i want to get all the money in without scaring him off. having 200+bb to work with confuses the hell out of me.

If he checks obviously you have to bet to build a pot. Whatever he would call with a high spade would seem perfect, if that is half pot bet that, if you think he'd call more try to squeeze some extra but I would go for $25 or so. Your only chance to get him all-in for him to catch something and bet the river, if he does that it's an easy push of course.

You bet $25 on the turn and he calls, pot is $90 on the river and he has $75 left. Any bet from him will mean he's committed and if you push after he checks it won't be an overbet. Just hope for an Ace or spade (but not the ) to come on the river.

If he bets the turn it seems like it will be an easy stacking (unless he has 22..). If it is $20 or more you could just do a miniraise and he will pretty much be committed.

Personally what I'm doing at this point in the hand is probably getting up and doing a little dance. 200x BB stacks and top boat against someone who wants to play and may be drawing, plus the flush just hit.

So if he checks, I make a real bet, say 3/4 of the pot. If he caught the flush or has an overpair or 66 then I expect to get his stack. If he has 97 I'm not getting a dime more anyway.

If he bets a decent amount on the flop, I probably minimum raise hoping to look like I'm testing the waters and trying not to pot commit myself. Tribeca $50ers can never fold to minimum raises. Say he bets $20 I raise to $40, if he calls there's now $120 in the pot and he'll have $80 left and the rest can go in on the river.

If he bets weak then raise to $40 anyway, so that again the rest can easily go in on the river.

ok well. i bet $30 and he called quickly. river was an offsuit 9. he insta-pushed. i called, obviously. he had [Js].

pretty much the postflop play is just "wow, lets get all 200bb in and double up." what im unsure about is the PF play...the merit of limp-reraising with a wider range when deep stacked.
