$1/$2 NL at Gaming Club
I limp UTG+2 with [Ah][Kh]. Im trying to mix it up a bit my limping. 3 more limpers and the BB plays.
The pot is $10. The flop comes [As][2h][9h]. Wow, nice flop. I make a weak lead of $4 hoping to get raised so I can reraise. Its folded to the button who raises to $20 and then its folded back to me. Uh oh. I smell a set here.

This player always sits at the $200 table with $30. Every time. But hes actually pretty good at playing his short stack. As a matter of fact, he is up to $140 when the hand started and I had just told him that I havent seen a guy play a short stack as well as him in quite a while. So we're having a conversation about this during the last round or so.

I know he would raise preflop with AK and AQ. That means he has either 99, 22 or AJ.
I smell 22 or 99 so I cant really reraise him now. I decided to call and try to hit the flush (or see what he does at the turn). I call.

The pot is now $50. The turn is the [Kd]. Actually, he couldve had A9s or A2s I guess. if so , I just buried him. I check and he bets $24. Im getting 3-1 which I like since I could be ahead of 2 pair and the odds for the flush arent bad considering he still has $100 or so left. I call.

The pot is $98. The river is the [Kc]. Yahtzee!!!. I check. He bets 420 and I check raise him all in. He calls and mucks his 99.

What do you think?

How did he bet 420? Was that a typo?

Other than that I think you played it well. There was really no spot where you can fold it. Maybe on the flop, but if he has a set you are still drawing live and if you hit your flush you could take his stack...so I'd call.

It's amazing Ice isn't it? On Prima..if they make aggerssive bets like that they usually hold something. Prima players are ultra passive...so if they start putting in a lot of money betting it's usually time to get worried.

I don't know if I could let go of the [Ah][Kh] in this spot. I'd probably lose my stack to this guy. I def. would have check raised all-in on the turn, thinking I hold the best hand..if not...hey i've got 13 outs :)
