Hand #1: You are getting 4-1 but your opponent is passive...I guess you can make this call, but most of the time I'm not doing it.

#2: I like a call here if I have any read he does this with overs...min-raise preflop could be all types of hands, but alot of people do that with medium PP's too, and you aren't beating many of those.

#3: I like a fold here. Wait for a nicer hand against the aggro postflop guy.

1) Fold flop because you have no idea where you stand, there's a loose player yet to act, and your hand is unlikely to improve. Just wait for a better spot and you'll get their money anyways.

2) Depends on how short UTG is and if you have a BDFD. Most of the time fold because you were playing A6s for its flush or two pair value, not its pair of 6's value.

3) Raise that donk lead and re-evaluate on the turn. Most of the time leads like that are weak hands or draws. When you just call you sort of underrep your hand and it gives him the impression that a double barrel will take the pot down, giving you a tougher decision to make. Tough decisions = -EV

Fold flop in hand #1? Against a 70% vpip player who bets like 90% of flops? Surely you jest.


Hand #2, it just looks retarded to miniraise preflop and then push a paired flop. Yes it could be 77-99, but it could also be overcards and Ax. What it can't be is a 4 or 66. So if I am behind, I have 5 outs (more if he has 22, 33 or 55), if I am ahead he probably just has 3 outs (with Ax where x > 6). Frankly I think it will be overcards more often than a PP.

Hand #3 I don't have much rationale, I just "felt" like he was bluffing. He knows that flop is unlikely to hit me. I think he's thinking on level 1, so I think on level 2. "If he thinks I have nothing and bets, then he has nothing". I think a strong hand (tywo-pair, set, straight) will check/raise here. I'm mainly worried about a 9 beating me, but I think he has draws (flush or str8) and overcards often too.

#1) So what if hes a maniac? You have nothing but Ace high and theres another player in the hand.

#2) Guys who min raise preflop tend to have middle pairs and Axs. If he has a middle pair, youre buried. If he has Ax, hes buried. Guys like this are very easy to beat. I would rather wait until Im not just flipping a coin as to whos buried.

#3) There are just too many possible hands for him to have here. You have no idea which cards you need to dodge if he has a draw. He liable to bet every street and youre going to call him down with middle pair hoping he has a draw and hoping it didnt hit when you dont know which one it is? Sorry, but I hate that plan. I would fold 80% of the time and raise the other 20%. I would never call the flop.
