If I flop a set against a J,10, x flop, I do not check it as I often do a set to a different board.. That is the scariest rainbow flop in Hold 'em. AK, AQ, KQ, Q9, 98,97, 87 all have a straight draw.
I guess the pot is about $400 right there. I know the risk but I would probably smooth call being tricky. He bets first next . What do you put him on, a big pair? Another move is to raise him as a pot builder putting him on A,J or J,10 but raise say $200. You have the nuts. You have to balance losing him versus him drawing out, a straight. As you know, J,10 fits into four nut straights.
If I had two pair, I'd try to win it right there. If he thinks you are drawing and he has a couple of pairs or an overpair he'll fire on fourth. . You have one chance in three of making a large full house. Don't run off the fruit.
