$1/2 6-max @ Tribeca

i post in CO and see [5s]. everyone limps except SB who folds, BB raises to $9, everyone calls. button has $180, everyone else has $200+.

flop: 764 rainbow
pot: $45

BB leads $2. UTG and UTG+1 call, i call, Button calls.

turn: a beautiful offsuit 8.
pot: $55

BB leads something stupid like $8, folds to me. i make it $45. button calls, everyone else folds

river: 6
pot: $155

button has about $120 left. whats my plan?

Before that though, I don't really like posting in the CO as it seems a waste since the BB is only 2-3 hands away. Anyway, once done, I like a raise here PF as nobody's shown strength and there's a good chance you can take down the pot. I might raise this flop too for the same reason. Although, mind you, this advice is suited towards stars/ftp players and i'm not sure how well it would fare against the Tribeca donks, but that's how i'd play the hand in general.

Not really. I can't fold this so I would probably push hoping for a call from a naked 5. A 5 might check behind if you check but a boat will definately bet/push.

Would someone please explain the pooosh philosophy on the paired board.

I understand that we may not be able to fold if he pushes. Fine.

But if we check, he may bet with lots of hands we beat, but if we push, he probably folds lots of hands we beat.

I don't see the big gain here when I don't know if he boated up or if we're good. Isn't it WA/WB? And yes, I've seen Tribeca donks play a set like that.

well. i apparently did the worst of both worlds. i bet $60 and reluctantly prepared to call a push. he thought for 5 seconds and called.

i wasnt sure he'd pay $120 with a naked 5 on a paired board. i wasn't sure he'd bet a naked 5 if i checked to him.

he called and mucked. not sure what he had, though im assuming he had a 5.
