I'm loving the turn check raise lately...I've been getting called way to much lately, and was looking for a way to counter this...let me give an example.

200NL FR.

I raise 4xBB in MP with JJ, 1 caller than Button raise me 3x. So the pot is now $81 (other caller called again).

Flop comes J 9 5 rainbow

Now my thinking is that these guys are both drawing to 2 outs (at best). I fire out a weak lead, 1/2 pot. Both villains call.

Pot is $171, Turn is another 5 completing the rainbow.

I check, next villain checks, Button goes all in for about $150, I raised all in another $300 or so, last villain folds.

Idiot button shows 89s and was drawing dead on the turn.

Now, in this specific case, I think both villains fold to a turn VB, so I am really liking thios play against the aggro douchebags at tthe 200NL.

Anyone see any drawbacks to this play?

Why did you raise all-in and shut the 2nd villain out when holding 2nd nuts?
He liked his hand enough on the flop to call, why not flat call and give him some kind of odds to catch up and also get more money in the pot?
Whats 2nd villains stack size?

I flat call the turn and evaluate on the river depending on 2nd villains playing style. I'm torn between checking to induce a bluff and value betting river

the raise all in was only like $35 more alc

Here you have almost nuts and can afford to slowplay, BTW I would just called button raise hoping that another player would come along.
Checking is not so good when there are draws, as I see lots of gutshot chasers who would pay a bet on turn, so if you check you miss value.

All-in-all check on turn is close to slowplay in the case you describe, so the same conditions should apply.

For me a more difficult case is when you have TPTK (overpair) OOP on a draw heavy board, you raised preflop, get called on flop, and 3/4 pot bet on turn will basically commit you.
I don't like checking in that situation, and I don't like betting too much.
