I think at Cake I raise more preflop, especially since you are gonig to be OOP. The problem (esp at Cake) is if the first guy is okay calling your raise, he calls, and then they all do.

That's a great flop for KK so I don't see much shame in getting stacked.

However, I think I probably check the river. The guy calling you limped and then called a raise. He doesnt' have some JJ/QQ there. So it's a T or nada. I might give nada a chance to bluff me at the river.

Check the flop? Either someone has a T or they don't, there's no draws at all, so you're WA/WB ... and the # of people who can bet after they flop trips and then the preflop raiser checks ... pretty small. You save a bunch when they have a T and suck them in when they don't (with their 88 or whatever).

I don't check many flops, but if I have AA-KK on an draw-free paired flop TT or higher I almost always do. I think it was droqqa who told me to do that, and it seems to work pretty well.

If not check flop, check turn for sure.

Maybe Im a weakie but when he calls the flop Im already very worried.

I check that flop alot of times even with a flush draw avail.....and I definatley raise more preflop.

Checking flop heads up may be OK (I would def. not be doing that though), checking in a multiway pot seems terrible.

Raise more preflop and don't bet the turn so hard.

I would bet the turn for about $60 and fold if BB shoves and probably call if the poster shoves (assuming the BB folded).
The better player should win the race. Always.

Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.

My thought process:

Preflop:
I would have raised more preflop if any of the players had limped, however two posted after just sitting down (one UTG and the other in the CO) - I want a call from my KK, so I raise to $9 instead of my standard $11-13.

Flop: Two callers and a flush draw out, no way am I giving free cards at a flush, so I bet.

Turn: Decision time, either play for the rest of my chips or check/fold. Perhaps I could have bet a bit less to try induce a call from a draw on the turn?

River: Decision made on the turn.

Beat: I think I actually almost got the guy with TJ to fold, he used up all his time before calling.

I think this flop check is pretty standard, at least for me... I'm not being results oriented at all. On a TT5 rainbow flop I want to encourage floaters to call at least one street with 99-66 etc. and I also want to lose less against JT.

Ooops, going back and checking it's not a rainbow flop. Gronk. I was looking at the hand on a smaller monitor earlier and it looked like a rainbow flop, with a 2-flush flop I am probably 50% / 50% to bet / check here. Especially at the Bodog $200 games where nobody can resist taking a stab at this kind of board if they flopped a flush draw but they will all slowplay their trips ... it's a beautiful thing. :)
