I don't usually bet full pot as most people see that as too bluffy. If the pot is 12, I might bet 9.
I play 6max where there are a lot more people calling a flop CB. So I don't just bet it blindly. I pay close attention to three things:
1) What's my position? If I'm in LP and raised, a lot of people will check the flop hoping you bet because they have a monster. I'll often check behind on the flop, and use my position on the turn. If they check again, I fire. In EP, I probably just bet the flop and let it go if called.
2) Whose in this hand with me? If two a calling stations called me, I much less likley to make a flop CB.
3) What's the board like and how many called. IF 3 or more people called my pfr, then I'm probably not making a CB without a piece of the flop because you'll surely be called. If the board is KQ9, I'm probably not making a CB without a piece because certainly someone has a piece of it and will not fold.
My advice is to practice making flop CBs etc from only late position. Get comfortable with it there first. Then start testing the waters in EP. Until your comfortable in LP, just check/fold EP because it gets tricky fast.
