I didnt want anothewr club or straight card to come and kill my action, or beat me...I felt that with the raise and reraise in front of me, someone was sure to have a hand they would got to battle with -0 anyone smooth call the flop here?

I reraise there too, and curse when they fold.

I tink it is the right way to play it, the only option in my mind is to push. Flat calling is out of the question for me because I have a rule to practically never slowplay a straight unless my opponents hand is very well defined. Too easy to get outdrawn and too many cards you don't want to see. Any diamond, pair, 7 or 8 diminishes your hand.
