Villain in this hand is running at 26/20/3 over 800 hands but I have absolutely no recollection of him. 800 hands is probably more than I have on just about anyone so far at Pacific so it's really weird that he's gone unnoticed. We have no history between each other and I have no idea how he views me. I've been playing taggy & a little nitty at this table.

We have ~ $1.9k effective stacks.

Why is 4-bet shoving over his 3-bet bad? (on the flop)

I've never been in this spot and really have no idea what to do, but I would have just CRed to like $200 and then since you're FOS so much there I imagine he 3-bets with air some and then just shove.

I think you should think about bet/3betting this flop before the CR this deep.

When the money gets in, I think you're doing better with a bet/3bet. He'll think you're donking into him, so his raising range will be wide...whereas if you CR and he 3bets, then you're in trouble and a 4bet probably won't be profitable.

If we are called we are likely to have about 26% equity in a 380 BB pot (ie he will have a set). Therefore we need villain to fold a lot once he 3-bets to make it profitable.

If he doesn't 3-bet we are going to have a big pot OOP where if a K or A hits we will have no idea wtf is going on. (since villain's C/R calling range is probably heavily weighted towards KQ, AQ, KK and AA)

If I check-raise I think he's 3betting light a very small % of the time. I have not been CRing him much or the table much in general.

Agree, if you CR and he comes over the top...you're in trouble.

I think we're in a lot worse shape if he 4bet shoves over our bet/3bet than if he 3bets over our CR.

OBVIOUSLY, either way we're not happy!!

The thing is, worse case, you've got 35% equity here, so getting it all in isn't a terrible mistake vs his range.

If we lead and the turn bricks, we can either ch/call, CRAI, or bet/call. Bet/folding probably sucks.

If it's an A/K, I think bet/3bet get it all in because a lot of the time you could be freerolling.
