Well..that card sucks. Sure gives me more outs with the Jack but my straight is a lot easier to find now. Plus this guy is so tight with his raises my pair my very well be dead to a set.

I check. Opponent bets $28... making it $28 for me to call out of positon in an $86 pot.

I think....gosh..his stack is big...imagine taking that baby!! and call.

WTF kenny. THAT IS PATHEIC. You don't call that bet you moron! You either raise or fold. Folding prefeably because he's probably holding a set. Even if I hit the striaght on the river I'm not gonna get much action out of position. stupid, stupid, stupid!

At least if I raised I would have a better chance of winning the pot. I doubt he could come over the top on that board. This player knows me...and if he doesn't hold a set that Jack is probably a scare card... because he knows i'll bet any draw or pair on the flop. Even if he called my raise I'd have outs to win. but no..i fucking called.

actually i'm not that pissed but after the hand was over i realized how bad my play was on the turn. i always say to never call bets if you can help it..and look what i did..just because i got greedy for his stack and didn't think the situation through.

I don't think it's a terrible call. I think raising is worse if you think he has a set unless you raise to about $100-150, but I'm not sure...
I'm still learning... How much would you bet if you river a straight? And what would you do if river is a ten?

I think you hit it on the nose Kenny, you need to raise or fold the turn. Reason 1 give yourself a chance to win the pot right there, if he does have a set you are going to make him think about it, did you just hit your straight? Reason #2 this player is a good tight player, he isnt going to call a big bet on the river with a 4 card straight on board, or in this case if you hit your two pair you arnt going to be albe to be bet for fear of him having the straight or a set. If this were me I'd lean toward folding to the turn bet, you arn't going to get his stack if you hit your straight and you read him for stregnth, if he has a set and you reraise you are going to have to fold. The only way the J helps you is if you called his reraise with a gutshot. I havent seen you play a lot kenny but my guess is you dont call a lot of reraises with a gutshot.

lol this make have been teh only occasion i would ever call a gutshot there..because we both had over $400 stacks. It's a lot eadier when you know how he plays too.
