Here are a couple of hands where I played them very passively. I played TP like a draw in both cases. Am I a calling station or am I trappy? (Villain is different in each hand)
Villain and I are both full stacked in this hand:
Pre-flop: (
7 players) Hero is MP1 with
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls, CO folds,
Button raises to $6,
2 folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls.
Cheap to play, so I call.
Flop: (
$21, 3 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero checks,
Button bets $10, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls.
I'm not willing to put him on an overpair just yet, plus his bet is quite weak. He is fairly new to the table so I'm not sure what this means. Why didn't I raise? I want to see the turn. If he fires big on the turn I might fold.
Turn: (
$41, 2 players)
Hero checks,
Button bets $14, Hero calls.
Very weak bet here again, I'm pretty sure this is a blocking bet (missed overcards), but I continue to play passively and call.
River: (
$69, 2 players)
Hero checks,
Button bets $68 Hero calls.
All of a sudden villain wakes up and starts betting big. Do you call? I think villain has me on a draw. He is betting big to get me to fold my draw, so I call.
Results:
Final pot: $205
Hero showed 9d Td
Button showed Jc Ad
How else do you win this much on a marginal hand like this?
This next hand I am almost double stacked and villain is 1/2 stacked.
Pre-flop: (
8 players) Hero is SB with
5 folds, Button calls, Hero calls, BB checks.
Flop: (
$6, 3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks,
Button bets $6, Hero calls, BB folds.
I check here hoping to induce a bluff from a weaker hand. Same as hand above, notice the flush draw on board. I decide right here that I am going to sell this as a draw.
Turn: (
$18, 2 players)
Hero checks,
Button bets $15, Hero calls.
Here I am, donking it up calling a big turn bet with my "flush draw"
River: (
$48, 2 players)
Hero checks,
Button bets $35, Hero calls.
This doesn't look like a value bet to me, and I have represented a draw the whole way. Villain doesn't have a clue what I have. I call.
Results:
Final pot: $118
Button showed 5c 3c
Hero showed 6d Ah
After this hand, villian says, "I put you on a draw". I say, " I know". LOL
Anyway...does anyone like my lines here? I realize I am potentially letting people outdraw me, but I think the risk is worth it (occasionally) if villain shows the potential to be this blufftastic.
