Need some thoughts for a theory I would love to test. After looking through 40k hands on PT all of my profit comes from PP's and the rest just equal out. I would love to play PP's only and wonder if I could pull it off. My first thought is, the blinds will eat me alive.
But I believe I can offset most of that by pushing with overpairs and stealing the many, many small pots that are checked to me. Now I know you all will say that I'll be easy to read and It won't work. I can't see that being a problem since 7 of the 10 players at $50nl and $100nl don't know what cards they play, much less what cards I play.

I'm a winning player and average around 5BB (2 tables), I'm rated an Ultra aggressor
but play very tight at around 15 vpip.

I believe I could make this work and I know I could play at least 8 tables this way.
I would also use Ice's law of 2@ 10Xraise.

First of all, I can't believe you can make a long term profit on 22-33-44. So this is going to cut you down your play even more. So now you are going to play about 5% of the hands and probably only 3% of the flops. I see a lot of players playing with single digit % of flops. Playing against them is very simple. You don't. Only with AA or KK.

Even if you could make a profit, what a terrible way to pass time. I suppose most of us need to make a living, but I would rather dig a ditch.

You need to rethink that statement.....because its false. Well, it may be true that you cant believe it, but small pairs can easily be played for a profit. Easier than most hands in fact.

Thanx for all the input. Did a little test run last night on party. 5 tables @ nl50. for around an hour and a half. I lost a buyin with rockets vs AK( he tripped the K, lol)
Hit two sets and managed to get most of it back. Ice was right, I was BORED TO DEATH. I also noticed that playing that tight on 5 tables, I took on more of a" passive role" post flop. Not good, because I love to fire, fire, and fold if reraised. I would have to play at least 8 tables or I would lose my mind. For more on this issue check out Black Knight's journal.

Anyone who is playing 15% of hands or less (as you would only playing pairs), gets an auto fold from me when they raise a pot or show any interest post flop whatsoever.... even AK, is gone.

So I kind of think this is a very see through way of playing, even big fish notice when you only play 1 hand in 16.

I also don't like small pairs and small sets, I don't have enough long term data on them yet, but so far for me anything below 55 is a losing hand.

it would be going backwards in your progression as a player / skill. it would be uber lame and id love you sat at my table so I can run over you and steal 95% of your blinds, and ~85% of every raised pot you do decide to see.

Play quality cards in position. simple as that, no need to only play pairs or whatever.

I play AA-JJ with a raise.
AK-AQs with a raise.
Limping with 99-55 and KQ, -KTs, QJ/QTs in late pos.

so, guess im pretty tight.
