I have been trying to count outs and what not as i improve my play.

I figured with that he either had AA KK or AK as the only hands that could beat me. And he goes nuts when he has AA or KK and if he would have flopped a set he would have gone all in. So in the end i decided it would be be worth the risk considering he had been playing aggressively with marginal hands.

Unless I've just misunderstood your last post;

Any ace here beats you. A2-AK has you crushed. 99, TT and KK has you crushed. As does AA but as you say that is somewhat unlikely given the description of him you gave. Along with this there are the drawing hands to consider. If he's a bad player, he could easily have any two hearts, KQ, JK, JQ, 87, and 9T.

That is a mountain of hands you are either way behind to, or flipping with.

You made your PF raise. You showed strength on the flop. He isn't going away. Aside from the drawing hands there are a multitude of aces, sets and one over pair that you are way behind to. You raised PF, had a stab on the flop and he's still there.

Check behind on the turn and take the free card. You are essentially beating very little here that fits this kind of action.
