AA vs. set

Postby Hofstra » Fri Jan 21, 2005 12:15 pm

$50 on UB.
me: $48
opponent 1: $30
opponent 2: $65

I have AA in EP and raise to $2. MP (opponent 1) calls, as does opponent 2 in SB.
Flop is [6h][8c][Js]. I bet $4. MP calls, SB raises to $8.
MP was a calling station so not too many worries there, but SB seemed to know what he was doing. He wouldn't have called preflop with garbage. I played one hand against him where I folded my counterfeited two pair to his river bet, so he knows I can fold a decent hand.

Do you lay this down?

I was half sure he hit a set, but also had the feeling that he tried to scare me into folding, so I put in one more serious raise. He then went allin, so I folded. Later he told me he had 88. So I could've saved some $ here by folding to his min. raise.

You can fold there alot of the time and be right, but if you do, dont ever show your cards.

Alot depends on the player. Against some people I fold, against some I go all in.

When someone calls a raise and then min raises the flop, I ALWAYS note what they had, because they will usually play the same way next time.
