A standard 5/10 TAG may have numbers like 24 / 18. If hes raising 18% of his hands, how can he be expected to raise 50% of the time when theres a limper? Thats way too high. I put it at closer to 25%

Also, this is why I think short stacking 6 max is better than FR. Few people playng FR raise the button just because someone limped. In 6 max the buttons range is much wider and i can shove from the blind with a bigger range. He would fold alot and when he calls with J8s because he already has $50 in the pot, I will still be ahead alot of the time and I will be dominating him more than he'll be dominating me (which is all that matters in this spot).

Ok I just plugged my range into pokerstove and it told me that it was around 35%.

I would probably call with 99+, AQ+ (knowing that it is someone with a shorstack strategy).

That said, before I recognize that he is a competent shortstack (ie if this is the first or maybe second time he's doing this) I would call with a range more like 44+, ATo+, A8s+, KQo, KJs, QJs, TJs. You see so many people pushing with hands like A3o or T9o, even things like T4s. It becomes pretty profitable to call with a wide range against a random shorty.

30% sounds like a decent range. This would probably make up for the passive opponents who will only raise 10% and the maniacs who are raising 60%, or something to that effect.

Sadly, at the state online poker is in at the moment, 1/2 plays fairly close to 5/10 in regards to preflop play between decent players.

I think it will be quite a long while before anyone assumes that I am a competant short stacker. I honestly cant say Ive seen a single one good short stacker in the last year so I think its automatically assumed that they all suck.

I think Im staying ahead of the blinds simply by shoving all in from the blind now and then with slightly better than avg strength hands after a button open raise. At Full Tilt the button is going to open raise probably 35% or more and alot of the time they just give up when I shove, so I make 2 rounds of blinds. When they call, I think Im ahead more often than not but this will take alot of hands to sort thru exactly.

You can really skip the math part (if it's correct). The basic conclusion is that you need to push a LOT (almost definitely on this scenario on any A) but still keep button folding a lot.

I'd be interested in your opinions on my strategy outlines toward the end (skipping the math part). Do you like, for example, calling or pushing on KQ?

That was one where I got stung bad with 50 BB by not pushing. Raiser had 76s, hit his flush to my Q with K-high flush redraw, and I lost my 50 BB stack...
