Hi folks, I'm currently engaged in a little poker quest that's going to see me playing a wide variety of games for the rest of the year (see here http://livepokerforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14389) and so I played a little 100NL at Pacific this morning.
Couple of hands for discussion.... Any comments welcome.
Hand 1:
QQ in late position. I raise a suitable amount, one EP limper calls. he is slightly short (has 50 or so) and has played poorly so far, rather loose but doesn't seem remarkably aggro.
Flop comes T[c] 8[c] 4[c], I have Q[c]. He checks, I bet pot. He calls.
Turn brings a low club. He checks, to be honest I can't remember if I checked behind here (90% sure I did) or made a small-ish bet of a "value bet if I'm ahead and gets me more info if I'm behind" sort.
River was a blank, he bets out $20-odd into a $40-odd pot. I think his play is probably consistent with A[c] but call anyways as he was pretty poor.
Hand 2:
I an in BB with J[d] T[d]. LP player raised $3 (we both have ~$100 stacks) and I call. It's heads up. Everyone call here?
Flop brings 8[d] 9[d] K[h] and I decide to lead with the big two-way draw. I bet pot. He raises about half pot. I figured I was slightly ahead of any one pair hand here (AK or AA) and I might get a hand like that to incorrectly fold, plus I'm not too far behind a set or 2 pair and likely to be all-in by the turn anyhow. I decided to push.
Thoughts?
