Lost 4 stacks in semi-rapid succession in todays session. That's fortunately not too common for me but I figured it's a big enough occurence for me to post them here for someone to look at. At a glance I don't think I played them horribly, but some are definetely marginal.
Hand #1
UTG miniraises to $2. He's a crazy person and has 91/63 stats and a big stack (I'm down to $89). I re-raise to $8 with KQs and it is folded to BB who is a shorty with $28, he pushes. Crazy person thinks forever and then calls.
What do you do?
I thought for a while and called. I reason that no way is crazy person folding, and I may well be behind to something like ATo but I am getting good pot odds and have position on the maniac with a pretty good hand. I think he would have pushed with AK or QQ-AA (and not miniraised preflop, he usually makes real raises with real hands) so I am unlikely to be dominated.
Flop comes KJ5 rainbow.
Crazy person checks, I push for $60 into the $90 pot. (Crazy person calls with QTo and hits a 9 on the turn to drag the pot, BB had AA).
Hand #2
This is against the same crazy person, who now has a crazy big stack. I've reloaded to $100. Folded to maniac in the SB, he miniraises. I have JJ and re-raise to $8, he calls (of course).
Flop comes 4T9 rainbow. He leads for $9.
He usually does donkbets with hands like TP. For some reason I put him squarely on QT (again). Even if he doesn't have QT I am pretty sure I am ahead since he would tend to CR a hand like T9 or 44 and raise properly with a bigger pair than mine.
I raise to $30, he calls.
Turn is a Q and I yell "Fuck!". He bets $25. Ok, I really think he has QT here and sucked out on me, the problem is that I just picked up 8 straight outs to add to my 2 set outs. I think for a while. Finally I decide I am going to call the river, so I feel I have to push, which I do for another $35. He calls with QT and I don't hit.
Hand #3
I raise
[3h] UTG and BB is the only caller. He seems loose, no other read, we have full stacks.
Flop is
[3s][7h]
He checks, I bet $5 into the $8.50. He check/raises to $14 and I push. He calls with TT and I don't improve.
Hand #4
Opponent is very loose, 55/15 and openraises to $2.50 on the button (so he doesn't have a AK/JJ type of hand). I'm in the BB with 77 and re-raise to $9. He calls.
Flop comes 9Q4 rainbow and I make a $14 CB into the $18 pot, intending to give upif called. He calls.
Turn is the
giving me a set and putting a club draw out. I check, he bets $30 and I push (which is basically a miniraise). He calls with
[Tc] and hits on the river.
