What do you guys think is the best way to select tables for a profitable short-stack strategy?

My first inclination is to pick the biggest pot-size, but that actually seems like it counters my preliminary calculations: Where you really make money is when they call too rarely, so tables scared of shorty all-ins might be better. Once you get them calling, too, they aren't playing their own game any more, making them more likely to choose badly.

Another possibility: Small pots, but high VPIP. That may be the best way to select a table??

I just posted in my journal and said that right now Im paying no attention whatsoever to table selection but will think about it as I move up.

My 1st thought is that a high pot total is good because it means people are raising and reraising each other and normally that means they are raising lightly and I can take advantage of that.

It could also mean deep stacks which is another thing I can take advantage of. Already a couple times Ive been all in preflop with 2 other guys instead of one. I might have something like JJ. Since theres 2 other guys, theres a side pot and usually one of them bets the other guy out which gives me protection (exactly the opposite of what they would do in a tournament).

Other than that, Im open to ideas about table selection and seat selection.

I do think its "much to do about nothing" because Im constantly changing tables if they go to 4 handed or I double up.

Again, Im not pushing or folding like has been experimented with in the past. Im never open pushing with any hand.
